Intake Assessment & Timing Report

A short bench appraisal covering rate in five positions, amplitude, case condition and gasket age — written up as a two-page report the owner keeps. Completed within four working days. Useful for buyers of pre-owned pieces and for owners deciding between adjustment and a full service.

Bracelet Sizing & Refinishing

Link removal and refitting, collar and pin renewal, clasp re-tapping, and hand refinishing that preserves the original grain direction. Suited to owners whose bracelet has stretched or whose clasp no longer holds. Includes wrist fit check and spring bar replacement.

Written Record Kept for Every Job

Each appraisal or service produces a written record that travels with the piece. Nothing is verbal-only: parts exchanged, measurements taken, and test results are all noted.

Single Bench, One Watchmaker

Your piece does not move between technicians or be handed off between departments. One person is responsible from intake to return, which keeps the chain of handling short and accountable.

Wet Pressure Testing On-Site

Dive watch pressure testing is carried out at the workshop, not sent to a third party. The test sheet comes back with the watch, showing the depth and result recorded on the day.

Pre-Owned Buyer Support

The intake assessment is designed around the specific needs of someone who has just purchased a pre-owned piece and wants an independent account of its condition and rate performance before deciding on further work.

Grain Direction Preserved on Refinishing

Bracelet refinishing at Ambit Horology restores rather than resets. Brushed and polished surfaces are worked in the original direction so the piece reads as serviced, not as resurfaced.

Fee Applied to Follow-On Work

The RM 430 assessment fee is credited in full toward any service booked within two months of the report. Owners are not charged twice when the appraisal leads directly into a service booking.

Common Queries About the Workshop

How long does the intake assessment take?

The timing appraisal is completed within four working days of the piece arriving at the bench. You receive the two-page written report at collection whether or not you proceed with any further work.

Is the assessment fee refunded if I book a service?

The RM 430 assessment fee is credited in full toward any bench work booked within two months of the report date. You are not charged the appraisal fee a second time when it leads directly into a service.

What does the dive watch service include?

The dive watch service covers a full movement strip and clean, bezel and click-spring renewal, helium valve inspection where fitted, gasket replacement throughout, and a wet pressure test to the piece's original rated depth. You receive a pressure test sheet, a bezel alignment record, timing traces taken before and after the work, and a 24-month service coverage period. Bench time is five to seven weeks.

Do you work on all brands and movements?

The workshop handles a wide range of mechanical and automatic movements. Contact us with the make, model, and the nature of the concern before bringing the piece in — that allows an accurate estimate of bench time and the most relevant service scope.

How is bracelet refinishing carried out?

Brushed surfaces are worked in the original grain direction rather than re-polished across it. Polished edges and chamfers are treated separately. A written note of every component exchanged — pins, collars, spring bars — accompanies the piece at return. Bench time for bracelet work is five to eight working days.

Can I drop in without an appointment?

How is customer data handled?
