Johor Bahru — My
The Bench Where Your Watch Gets Understood
Ambit Horology carries out timing assessments, bracelet work, and full dive watch overhauls at a single bench in Jalan Dhoby. Every job is written up and handed back with the piece.
What We Do
Three Areas of Bench Work
Each service is documented from intake to delivery. Fees are stated at the start; no surprises at collection.
Intake Assessment & Timing Report
A short bench appraisal covering rate in five positions, amplitude, case condition and gasket age — written up as a two-page report the owner keeps. Completed within four working days. Useful for buyers of pre-owned pieces and for owners deciding between adjustment and a full service.
- Rate measured in five positions
- Case and gasket condition noted
- Fee credited toward follow-on work
- Ready within 4 working days
Bracelet Sizing & Refinishing
Link removal and refitting, collar and pin renewal, clasp re-tapping, and hand refinishing that preserves the original grain direction. Suited to owners whose bracelet has stretched or whose clasp no longer holds. Includes wrist fit check and spring bar replacement.
- Original grain direction maintained
- Worn spring bars replaced
- Written component exchange record
- 5 – 8 working days bench time
Dive Watch Service
Full movement service alongside bezel and click-spring renewal, helium valve inspection, gasket replacement throughout, and wet pressure testing to the original rated depth. Written for owners who use their piece in the sea rather than at a desk.
- Wet pressure test to rated depth
- Before-and-after timing traces
- Bezel alignment record supplied
- 24-month service coverage period
Why This Workshop
How Ambit Horology Approaches the Bench
Written Record Kept for Every Job
Each appraisal or service produces a written record that travels with the piece. Nothing is verbal-only: parts exchanged, measurements taken, and test results are all noted.
Single Bench, One Watchmaker
Your piece does not move between technicians or be handed off between departments. One person is responsible from intake to return, which keeps the chain of handling short and accountable.
Wet Pressure Testing On-Site
Dive watch pressure testing is carried out at the workshop, not sent to a third party. The test sheet comes back with the watch, showing the depth and result recorded on the day.
Pre-Owned Buyer Support
The intake assessment is designed around the specific needs of someone who has just purchased a pre-owned piece and wants an independent account of its condition and rate performance before deciding on further work.
Grain Direction Preserved on Refinishing
Bracelet refinishing at Ambit Horology restores rather than resets. Brushed and polished surfaces are worked in the original direction so the piece reads as serviced, not as resurfaced.
Fee Applied to Follow-On Work
The RM 430 assessment fee is credited in full toward any service booked within two months of the report. Owners are not charged twice when the appraisal leads directly into a service booking.
Get the Report First
Bring the Piece In — Leave With Answers on Paper
Whether it is a timing concern, a bracelet that no longer sits right, or a dive watch due for its pressure recheck, the work starts with a clear bench appraisal and ends with a written account.
