Section 2
Acceptance of Terms
By using this website or engaging our services, you confirm that you have read and agree to be bound by this Agreement. If you do not agree, please do not use this website or submit a piece for service.
You must be at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter a binding agreement. By using our services, you represent that you meet these requirements.
Where a piece belongs to a minor or a third party, the person submitting it for service accepts these terms on behalf of the owner and takes responsibility for the accuracy of information provided at intake.
Section 3
Service Description
Ambit Horology provides the following bench services from its workshop at 14 Jalan Dhoby, 80000 Johor Bahru, Johor:
- Intake Assessment and Timing Report — bench appraisal and written report (RM 430)
- Bracelet Sizing and Refinishing — sizing, hardware renewal, surface work, and written component record (RM 980)
- Dive Watch Service — full movement service, sealing, pressure testing, and documentation package (RM 3,640)
Services are available to customers who bring pieces to the workshop in person or arrange drop-off by prior agreement. We do not offer postal intake as a standard option.
Service scope for each job is agreed in writing at intake. No work proceeds beyond the agreed scope without the customer's prior confirmation.
Section 4
User Responsibilities
When submitting a piece for service, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information about the piece, including known service history, recent damage, or modifications.
- Disclose any known fragility, non-original components, or previous amateur repair attempts that may affect the service.
- Collect the piece within 30 days of notification that the service is complete. Storage beyond this period may attract a holding fee.
- Use the website only for lawful purposes and not attempt to access systems or data beyond what is publicly available.
Failure to disclose relevant information about the piece may affect the outcome of the service and does not constitute grounds for a fee dispute.
Section 5
Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, photographs, layout, and design — is the property of Ambit Horology or its licensors and is protected under Malaysian copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any content for commercial purposes without prior written permission.
Written service reports and documentation produced as part of a completed service are provided for the personal use of the customer who commissioned the work. They may not be published or distributed in a manner that misrepresents the scope or findings of the service.
Section 6
Payment Terms
All fees are denominated in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR / RM). Payment is due in full at collection of the piece, unless a deposit arrangement has been agreed in writing at intake.
Accepted payment methods include cash and bank transfer. We do not accept partial payment by default. Any instalment arrangement must be agreed before bench work begins.
6.1 Assessment Fee Credit
The RM 430 intake assessment fee is credited in full toward any service booked and commenced within two calendar months of the assessment report date. The credit applies once per assessment and is not transferable to a different piece.
6.2 Cancellation and Scope Changes
If you wish to cancel a service after bench work has commenced, you are liable for the cost of work completed to that point. Where a scope change is identified during service and you choose not to proceed with additional work, you are liable for the original agreed scope only.
Section 7
Service-Specific Terms
7.1 Intake Assessment
The assessment report reflects the condition of the piece at the time of appraisal. It is an informational document and does not constitute a warranty of the piece's future performance. Rate figures and condition notes in the report are specific to the test conditions and positional orientation used.
7.2 Bracelet Work
Refinishing work is carried out with care to preserve original surface characteristics. The outcome depends on the condition of the bracelet at intake. Surfaces with significant pre-existing damage or non-standard factory finishing may not return to their original appearance.
7.3 Dive Watch Service
The 24-month service coverage period covers defects arising from the service work itself. It does not cover accidental damage, misuse, impact damage, or water ingress resulting from damage to case components after collection. Pressure test results reflect performance at the time of testing.
7.4 Bench Time Estimates
Bench time estimates given at intake are based on current workshop capacity and expected parts availability. We will notify you if the estimated completion date changes. We are not liable for losses arising from delays outside our reasonable control, including parts procurement delays.
Section 8
Disclaimers
This website and its content are provided for informational purposes. While we take care to keep information current, we make no representation that all content is free of error or fully up to date at any given time.
Bench services are carried out with professional care. However, we do not warrant specific outcomes — such as a particular post-service rate figure — as results depend on the movement's condition, parts availability, and factors specific to each piece.
Nothing on this website constitutes professional advice of any regulated nature. We do not provide legal, financial, insurance, or medical advice.
Section 9
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Malaysian law, Ambit Horology's liability for any claim arising from a service is limited to the fee paid for that service. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses, including loss of use, loss of value, or sentimental loss.
We are not liable for pre-existing faults or damage present at intake that were not visible or detectable at the time of assessment. The intake document records the condition observed and forms the baseline.
Our liability is not excluded or limited for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for any matter where exclusion is prohibited by law.
Section 10
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ambit Horology, its team members, and agents from any claim, loss, or expense arising from your breach of this Agreement, your provision of inaccurate information at intake, or your use of this website in a manner not permitted by these terms.
Section 11
Termination of Service
Either party may withdraw from a service arrangement before bench work commences. If you withdraw after work has begun, section 6.2 applies to fees already incurred.
We reserve the right to decline or discontinue a service if the piece presents risks to the technician, if information provided at intake proves materially inaccurate, or if the scope required falls outside our current capabilities. In such cases, any fee paid for work not yet performed will be refunded.
Section 12
Dispute Resolution and Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising from or connected to these Terms or a service provided shall first be addressed through direct discussion between the parties. We aim to resolve complaints within 14 working days of receipt.
If informal resolution is not achieved, the parties may refer the matter to mediation before the Mediation Centre of Malaysia or pursue resolution through the courts of Johor Bahru, which shall have non-exclusive jurisdiction.
Malaysian consumer protection provisions under the Consumer Protection Act 1999 apply where relevant and are not diminished by these Terms.
Section 13
General Provisions
- Entire Agreement: This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between you and Ambit Horology in relation to its subject matter and supersedes all prior communications.
- Severability: If any provision of this Agreement is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
- Waiver: Failure to enforce any provision of this Agreement does not constitute a waiver of the right to do so in future.
- Assignment: You may not assign your rights under this Agreement without our written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations in connection with a business transfer.
- Notices: Formal notices to us should be sent to the address or email below. Notices from us to you will be sent to the contact details provided at intake or enquiry.
Section 14
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The revised version will be published on this page with an updated Last Updated date. Changes apply to services booked after the effective date.
Continued use of this website or submission of a piece for service after any revision constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
